Yes, everything that had anything to do with any liquid or mechanical moving parts.
The mechanic loved showing off the SS coolant pipes and the new motor with all the typical pieces attached- the engine compartment was a new van.
Why not the transmission?
Just because GoWesty makes one worried about the sudden death syndrome, like really? The rebel in me.

The engine was one item. When I mean everything, I mean everything.
Didn't matter what condition. Radiator to tailpipe Replaced. I wanted 30 year old mechanical parts brought to new.

For that kind of money you could do two bostig conversions, or one new zetec motor with the turbo, know everything about your rig and have money to go
travel. That's some serious cash.

conversion shop will replace all questionable parts, like the plastic coolant tubes, radiator, starter, etc. and that drives up the cost. Folks I've talked to also end up with a few extra goodies while they are at it (wheels/tires, new canvas, in-dash A/C, suspension rebuilds, even a pain job).

professional installation were $4k up, depending on how many of those other parts I needed to replace. Figure $5-$6k out the door, maybe a third the cost of a Subaru conversion. If you have the money and the van is a keeper, it's worth it.
