The 85 Westfalias without kitchens also came without tachs. The 85 Westfalias with kitchen came with tachs. In 84 models only the Wolfsburg vans came with tachs. There was a hardtop model and a poptop full camper model. The hardtop had a Westfalia foldout bed and sliding windows with screens and seating for 7 like a normal passenger model. Plus they both had power steering that other 84s didn't get. Funny thing is that after that most vans got tachs EXCEPT for Wolfsburg poptop models 85-87. 90/91 base model passenger vans also came without tachs. By now a tach could have been added or removed from any van for various reasons. Mark
