Where are you that non-alcoholic fuel costs that much? I generally get it for about 10 cents per gallon above the equivalent grade for alcoholic. Currently locally (Spokane, WA) that amounts to $1.90 for non-alcoholic regular. But, I have to drive several miles across town, and have been burning regular alcoholic that I buy for $1.75 from an outlet owned by the Spokane Tribe. When I lived in Oklahoma non-alcoholic was widely available, but not here. I get better mileage with non-alcoholic in my Prius, but haven't been able to make an adequate comparison with the camper, since my driving conditions with it vary so much from trip to trip. I believe it does better, however.

How would the alcoholic stuff damage the fuel pump? I understand its damaging fuel lines and connectors. Are the pump innards plastic?
