It also runs leaner and cooler than straight gasoline. In a carbureted engine, running alcohol you have to almost double the size of the jets to get the mixture correct.

My understanding about the alcohol in fuel, is, that except for the enviromental factor (and that's questionable) gasohol is a rip. It simply doesn't have the btu's that gasoline has. So by adding alcohol to gasoline you get a power reduction, yet you still pay the same price. I know the corn subsidy to the farmers has to be factored in somehow. Thats a hit on our taxes.

Anybody got more?
