I'm also putting together a list of parts after a paint job this Spring. I'm shopping for an '87 Syncro hardtop though.
1. I never thought about this one. I haven't come across it, but I imagine you could use some heat shrink tubing (probably without shrinking it) or some other tubing?
2. Do you mean the rubber weatherstripping? If so it's available from Bus Depot, Go Westy, and Van Cafe. Bus Depot has the moldings for non opening triangular windows and the molding that accepts the "chrome" trim.
3. I don't know what kind of housing the '82s use, but Bus Depot has the housing, bulb holder, lens, and seal available in a package. GW and VC just offer the bulb holder and lens.
4. Having a Syncro, I'm not sure exactly what parts you need exactly, but Bus Depot has a few 2wd fuel filler parts and VC has a couple available. Do you have the part numbers?
Quite a few people have refurbished their badges with excellent looking results. I can't remember where I saw the write-ups, but you can probably find something on thesamba.com and the Vanagon Owners Group page on f-book. I hand painted new silver paint on my mine, but it didn't last long. I should have put some clear coat on.
Maybe Ron from Bus Depot or Ken from Van-Again will chime in and there are a couple of listers that have considerable part collections.
I haven't used them but there's also Airhead Parts and Bus Boys.

our trusty vendors/distributors. A few on my list don't seem to fit that
"easy" bucket so I'll ask here for suggestions. If you have these or
know sources I'm all ears.
This is for an '82:
1. The rubber sleeve for the rear hatch defrost wires (from body to hatch)
2. Front door window frames (the butterfly / triangular window) both sides
3. electrical parts for license plate lights (plastic housings are ok)
4. Diesel fuel tank filler neck sleeve& clamp.
As an aside, does anyone have a Diesel Vanagon L rear hatch badge in
good shape? mine is reusable but tired.
