Like everyone says, dead battery. Do you drive mostly short trips? This happened with my son's 2010 Passat after about two years of short trip driving. The OEM batteries are not the best either.

Sorry, guys. My Westy is ok. It is my other car, but I didn't know anyone more knowledgeable than you guys on cars!

It's my '08 VW Passat. Been driving fine, aside from the message telling me to get in for my 92000 service.

Running errands today, no problems. After my last stop, I noticed a warning light came that is telling me there is a problem with one of my headlights. Not sure which one as I did not see the message that tells me.

I stop in front of my condo to unload everything. Put the hazard lights on since I'm in the road. Come back to my car, and it won't start!

Half turn of the engine and then nothing. Thinking it may be the battery, I shut off all accessories, but still nothing. All accessories work fine. I finally push it to a parking space.

Current symptoms: not even half turn, but there is a strong clicking from the starter. Battery is at 12.2.

Could this be the battery out of nowhere? Anything else to check? Before I bug a neighbor for a jump or call AAA to tow it to the dealership 30miles away.
