I'm in the remove it camp. Here in the NW we could benefit from windshield clearing for about nine months of the year, but the Westy A/C is useless for that. And, the pre '86 Westy A/C is completely useless by design. If it doesn't clear the windshield or blow in your face, what good is it? If you travel in hot weather, you camp in hot weather. Might as well be used to it. When the estimates started at $2000 to get it working, the decision was easy--that's the money I need to rebuild my Subaru engine. I certainly understand why the pros on this list want us to keep it though! ;-) Stuart |
