I know the Audiovox cruise control uses the brake light as an "off" switch, and tests the resistance of the brake light circuit to make sure the bulb'll light up. If you use LEDs with the Audiovox, the cruise control won't come on, as it can't see when to turn off. If that's the problem, you can put a resistor inline with the bulb, or install a separate "off" switch at the brake pedal.
