Yeah, I added (receipts) the first year of ownership, 1998 for a 1987 Van. Yikes, I was a major participant in the VAG Mechanics retirement program! It, (the Van) is what it is... if you fallow what I mean here. Costs a bundle to bring a Van back from aging. Once to current operating conditions, takes a lessor but still significant amount of $$ to maintain. If this is not to your liking or enjoyment... screw it, buy something else. At an inflated price of 60-70k $$$$..... I make the case: 1987 Van $14k CAN-$. 10K $$ to repair. A couple 100$ a year to maintain. 10K$$ for a Bostig-+ conversion... When the Van emerges in a year or two... Priceless and ill-replaceable, at any price..... less than $50-70K est.
