I did this trip several years ago about this time and had no problem getting into campgrounds. April is still early, but no doubt things are more crowded then they were when I went. If you are talking "lodging" meaning a room, then you may find better deals in advance, or often do as well showing up and asking for their best deal that night.

There are a lot of campgrounds in that area, and be sure you have a copy of AAA's "Indian Country" map.

Your experience please.

The last week of April and the first week of May my wife and I will be visiting the National Parks of southern Utah. We have no agenda, just a map and time. From your experience, will it be necessary to make reservations for lodging in advance, or will it be safe to "wing it" as we go along.

Thanks or your input.
