Update: Engine Cranks but No Start! Finally got a used ECU from a friend and tried it after allowing the cylinders to dry out overnight from all the gas inside them the engine started right away! Am also changing oil & filter as I write! A Heads-Up: When the ECU goes bad it can flood that engine in no time at all and I mean with the injectors flowing under pressure non-stop there will be gallons on fuel in the cylinders fast mine was even pouring out the exhaust after many tries to start!!! Be careful there will be gasoline everywhere!! Moral of this saga carry a spare E.C.U. if you have never changed yours in 30 years I was still running on the original one since new in 1984. Needless to say I will be looking for and carrying a spare one from now on. Question: Does anyone know of a company that refurbishes E.C.Us? Thanks again to this wonderful list for the many responses to my dilemma!!! Wrenold |
