for physical repair of a transmission aluminum casting,
I recommend Marine Tex ....an awesome two part epoxy, about 5 times
stronger than JB Weld.
For general corrosion resistance on an aluminum transaxle, I recommend
Zero Rust spray can paint, in black.
Goes on thin...like need to do 4 coats , but that will hold up pretty well.
things need to be really clean before painting of course.
I've seen whole ears and brackets rusted clean off aluminum VW
transmissions.
So preventable too.
