What??? The pump should pressurize the system and shut off after a second or two in the "on" position. Your system is not pressurizing due to a MASSIVE LEAK! DO NOT try to start this engine until you it!

From what you describe it sounds like a split or popped off hose on the left injector bank flowing gas down over the exhaust pipes. A failed fuel manifold is also a possibility.
