I've only been on the first couple of days, but beautiful. If you're going that far, might as well turn off TotW Highway toward Eagle, just on the U. S. side of the border crossing. Narrow, winding gravel road for 65 miles to Eagle, then you get to turn around and go back the way you came. No reason to go to Eagle except the road is nice and scenic, places to camp along the river, and it's kind of a cute little town along the Yukon River. Perfectly doable in a Vanagon, but not much larger than that. I don't think I'd pull even the smallest trailer down that road, with some tight corners and 200 foot drops to the river below. When you're done with Eagle, on the way to Delta Junction you should stop in at Chicken, buy some lunch or just some stickers. -- Mike Stewart |
