What is it about these rigs that makes people crazy?

IMO, You've got writers for Outdoor, Outdoor Life and Overland Journal which serve the "BMW checkbook camper crowd", chronicling their adventures while living in their Vanagons. Wannabe outdoorsmen eat this stuff up. 80k is a steal compared to the price of Earth Roamers and even an optioned out 4x4 with a slide in. And so they're being snapped up by weekend warriors who want to be "in touch with nature" and can pay for it.

I'm OK with it because my Syncro just keeps getting more desirable and valuable. I see a trend though. You guys mentioned it a few times in this thread. The Sprinter 4x4. You can buy one brand new with a full warranty cheaper than a fully restored Syncro Westy and more of these conversions are showing up in the above mentioned magazines.

I think that we're at or near the peak value we're going to see on our wonderful little machines as more of the Sprinters show up.
