As many people who own "brown" interiors have discovered, there are some
paints on the SEM Company's paint chart the look so close to Vanagon
interior brown that nobody would notice it's a shade off. I have a lot of
items including grey headrests and other trim that I "browned" years ago
and it is holding up very well. Some chemist or plastic specialist will
have to chime in as to why, but I think we all accept that black plastic
lasts the longest.
I don't bother with brown handles, though, too small a detail to see at my
age : )
