You both have added to the Vanagon knowledge base! At least as far as this list is concerned. It should have been made of nylon, but that would have cost $0.25 more. But lead is an old school material for an old-school design--vent wings. Long obsolete for poor aerodynamics, but they are an effective early form of air conditioning.
