Every time I've had that on a 1.9 and it wasn't 'something normal' .. say fuel delivery or water in the gas, or clogged fuel filter .. it was the distributor . specifically the Hall Sensor ( tho check the wires on the side ..a weak point. ) just had a case of this on one of my 85's recently ... and 'black and white' ..it was a faulty distributor/Hall Sender.
