If you take it to Home Depot or a lighting store there should be a number of LED lamps from Philips and others using the same two-pin base and rated for 12 VAC. They say not to use them on 12 VDC but the ones I have tried from Philips have operated ok at constant brightness on a range of DC voltages, with the current going down as the voltage goes up. I don't know how they'd handle the automotive version of twelve volts but could be worth a try. However I doubt you'll find one that gives anything like the same omnidirectional lighting.
