Dear island bound
Where are you coming from - this will be important in your approach to the
island as there are five ways to access the island by ferry -
- black ball from port angles on Olympic peninsula to Victoria inner
Harbour
'Tawasseen to Sydney -
Horseshoe bay to duke point
Prince Rupert to port hardy
Powell river to little river -
Each has its own special cache and each lends it self to a different sort
of adventure and you can mix and match to increase the likelihood of having
maximum fun - I have been to prince Rupert but not by ferry -:)
I have used all the other ferries to access island and currently live in
Powell river
The trouble with ferries is they access from the lee side or end as it may
be - leaving the ocean side of the island bereft of access from the ocean
and only accessible by road - Jordan River is almost not even on the map -
The further west u want to go the less likely there will be paved roads
accept for the port albernie and Tofino parts - Bamfield is by logging road
only like as Alister points out which he may know best - Phil are you there
-?
Interesting as some of the first contact was west side where more nicer
Indians lived
Oh well that was a long time ago -
No one plans trips by indian village by Indian village anymore - do they ?
?
Try to access floras island -
Try to access west coast trail (reservation only)
Try cape Scott park - I have not been there but it is supposedly worth the
trip and you can slide down the west side of the island by road - Winter
Harbour here we come lol
Have a great trip
Regards
