A camper version would be really confined, methinks.  Bed up top?  Or two
narrow beds along the sides, with some sort of fold up system?  No kitchen,
but a built in ice chest under a seat perhaps.  I don't see a vehicle this
small being converted to a full camper.

So far as the comment on the web site suggesting the luggage (or whatever
is being carried) flying around in sharp turns (or more seriously, in an
accident), provision could be made for latching it down.  Most hatch backs
don't really provide for cargo security, and whether they should or not,
lots of people haul loose cargo in people space in sedans.  Many people
probably haul things in Vanagons (or other vans) without securing it.  Not
wise, perhaps, but it is done.
