So if you use a device for actual speed, how do you record total mileage? Like what you use for maintenance and and just generally a gauge to know what shape a car is in. I don't know what's so hard about finding a speedometer. I have a few spares I have acquired and if I didn't I would just take my current one and have it repaired at a speedo shop or send it to VC or GW for a rebuild. When I see a car that the speedo does not work I wonder what are the other maintenance practices of the owner. Car need to up kept and repairing a 2WD Vanagon is about as cheap as it comes to maintain. If you want to own and not maintain something then buy a new KIA. Rant off!
