Anyone on the list have an Subaru EE20 diesel in their Vanagon?   I would be interested in your feedback on performance, fuel efficiency and reliability.

The more I read about this engine, the more I think it would be my first choice for an engine replacement.  The companion 6-spd tranny would also be a significant upgrade.  

A pricy path, but when I find the Atlantic Hightop of my dreams - that is not too rotten to be a restoration candidate - just perhaps ….
