Anthony:

I followed their adventure blog pretty closely and that trip is a huge endorsement for the engine. I am curious about the longer term impact of that horsepower (150 - 170) and torque (~260ft/lb peak) on the VW tranny. In a 2WD, you would have the option of switching to a Subaru 5/6 speed manual transmission. I don’t know what you would have to do on a syncro.
