I am rebuilding a 2.1 engine from a 1987 Van, and the cam is bad, it needs replacing. In the ETKA there are several choices starting with: 025 109 015B and ending with 025 109 035B. The first listing has a “Remark” of (-3) and the last listing has a “Remark” of (+7). So it goes -3, -2, -1, +/-0, +1, +2, +3, +4, +5, +6, +7 What does this number mean ? Then the cam that came out of this engine has a part # on it that does not relate to any of those numbers: 025 109 101B Anyone know why this is ? Then if I go to VW Classic Parts there are plenty of cams listed there, most of them claim they are for the T3, see the link below. Some of the part numbers correspond to what’s in the ETKA, but some don’t, but they all claim they are for the T3 and they also have these + and - "Remarks” attached to them. How am I supposed to order a cam ? It seems very confusing ! Any help would be appreciated.
