Your problem is not the lifters. You have an oil pressure problem. Either you are using the wrong oil, it is at the wrong oil level, (overfull is worse the under filling), the engine is running too hot, the oil pump inlet screen is getting clogged with debris, the oil pump is worn or damaged, or what is common on higher mileage 1.9 engines the case and main bearings are worn out so you lose oil pressure internally. You want to get the oil pressure tested with a gauge. Don't just have a gauge connected and oil pressure checked for a few minutes. Get it on the highway and see what happens after at least a 1/2 hour at highway speed. A health engine should be able to maintain close to 10 psi/1,000 rpm. BTW does the oil pressure warning light work? I'll bet this is accompanied with a flickering oil pressure light at idle. Dennis
