unless it's a misprint or I'm misunderstanding terms used here, the way I see it, when engine is running, the ECU "supplies" negative to fuel pump relay 85 This is what turns on that relay. ECU relay 87 sends positive to fuel pump 86 via a main positive connection in harness. (G1 or 26). Indeed when ECU relay is energized, it sends positive to fuel pump 86. Neil.
