I'm so literal , lol.

it is odd that the Bentley diagrams don't show that small red wire.

obviously it has 'start signal' on it.

start signal needs to get to ECU of course.. but it's not via a small red wire at the solenoid terminal.

My 86 has that small wire too. I'm just leaving it connected and it's not bothering me !

I'm sure Mark D. knows what it's for.
