dear trip planner
1. get triple A RV Gold
2. take tools - and blanket - triangles and or cone s
3. spare parts -include belts - filters - tire repair kit
4. expect to move slowly all the time so you do not have to race the last
few days
5. carry documents that tie you to home town - detailing expected return
for when you cross the border
6. if any of the kids are part of blended family and have another parent
not on board - make sure you have a signed letter from that parent granting
permission for you to have that kid and to visit canada with that kid with
dates of expected reunion in home town
7. have all vet paperwork for dog in order
8. do not attempt to carry packaged dog food from one country to another -
in either direction
9. Fire arms must be declared at border and are subject to strongly
enforced rules specific to cananda which may be very weird to you -
10. do not attempt to carry citrus from canada into usa even if originated
in usa
11. Have more than on cell phone
12. Have a box of stuff for the gang to do while you fix van at side of
road - said box should include tent or system to keep sun or rain off gang
while you repair -
13. carry at least one large cardboard box that will serve as artificial
ground to work on van - saves having gravel in skin and helps to find parts
that come adrift while under construction
14. while traveling in canada the 100 refers to Kilometres per hour not
miles per hour - think of time as metric -separate into "whiles" which are
6 minute increments - so if some place is 30 away - it is 30% of an hour
away or about 18 minutes --
happy trails
regards
