This... ok. Never do anything the van wasn't meant to do. I feel a bit foolish, although I can't imagine foreseeing this. Well, not me.

Thanks you both for the important heads up. This is definitely it.

To Robert Fischer, yes the extra volume is for the TC, and more will be required when I get the cooler thermostat to open up. And I had four or more written sources on the assembly of the 010 and lots of experts opening the way so I got at least a good sense of how things go together inside the AT. There I was way more cautious about nailing down every step than I was about piecing the external big things back together before running it through its paces.
