Pessimistic Dennis again! That fuse link failing is a symptom. Sometimes they do just overheat due to the connections loosening but most of the time it is a sign something else is wrong. Of the things that fuse link feeds it includes the radiator fan for the low and intermediate (AC high side pressure) speeds. As such everything needs to be tested for proper current draw. Also it is common for some of the wiring to get cooked and corroded increasing resistance so much that motors actually draw more current trying to do their job just coking the wiring further. Test and replace as needed. A ammeter will be a friend indeed here.

Well, maybe I have found the reason. A friend said look for the fuseable link. He describe it, being in the D pillar. I looked. It wasn't obvious but I found it. Just looking it appeared intact. I touched it and it fell to powder.

Will get a new one tomorrow, and hopefully my AC woes will be over. Not perfect, but the thing will be useable. Will post the outcome.

John
