First I have ever heard of this, but if it's in the Bentley ......... .

The owner's book gives instructions for changing the oil, but simply says, "Do not overtighten ............... can cause leaks." That is pretty standard for oil change instructions that I have seen for numerous vehicles. We are supposed to use copper, crush washers for the oil drain plug (available from our online vendors, and from NAPA). I have always been told by professionals to tighten the plug until you feel the washer crush, no more. I have never had a leak at the plug.
