Subject: Engine mounts and vibration issues
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

The current outer mounts (070-199-231A)as being supplied by some including Meyle are being built wrong. The outer safety stop is too close or actually attached to the rubber pad preventing the engine from moving as needed. This really transfers a lot of vibration into the body especially when cold and at low speeds. It is really bad on Syncros. When installing these mounts do what is needed to bend that outer tab away from the mount so the rubber can flex in both directions. A good test is being able to move the engine by lifting/lowering the tail pipe. Hopefully someone at Meyle will figure this out and correct it or we find another source.

Dennis
