I have a low cost backup camera installed on mine.
The screen is inside a 2nd "rear view mirror" which clips over your proper one.
A bullet camera (about 1cm diameter) is installed just above where the
number plate can fold down for access to the engine. A nice discreet
hiding place.

What I really want is to build a blindspot camera as mine is a panel
van. The screen I have can take two inputs.
Has anyone achieved this? Infrared LEDs are needed so the challenge is
finding a small enough camera.
I've seen sensor-based after market systems too, but I'm not wanting
to spend > $100
