why disconnect o2 sensor to swap in a new AFM ?

was that in the instructions perhaps ? I'd never touch the 02 just to change any part on the fuel injection system. No need that I've ever come across.

in my experience..the distributor, and that connection/plug on the side of the distributor are weak areas to be very careful about.
