The damping plates are the same as are the pads. Some do have tabs and you need to check that the pistons are in the correct place for the tabs to line up. Then again many replacement pistons do not the notches for the tabs. There are also now piston cushions that can be fitted to the piston cups. These work better than the shims. https://www.nucapperformance.com/piston-cushion.php

My local NAPA has been getting these for me.

too bad they're ATE (Teves?). I can't seem to find new damping plates anywhere for mine. Point is, don't lose those plates if you still have them!

If you don't have those plates,..... have you noticed that your pads wear at an angle?

I'd be tempted to get them rebuilt by an indy as per Stuarts suggestion. The cores are pretty old by now. If I were to ever get my hands on an original set of Teves (how could one tell really?), I'd get those rebuilt. Or, find Girling callipers, do same. Grilling damping plates can still be had.

Neil.
