His philosophy is to not be any more intrusive than necessary. First a little poking and prodding with a hand tool to scrape out for a better look.

In this case it was followed up with high tech wire brush and some sanding. There were some spots inside that had rusted through (at the wall between the air column & wheel well) so that complicated things a bit and involved some welding. He uses Wurth products aplenty... in this case some saBesto rust converter to get things started. And POR15 of course.Where welding is needed he uses Pro Form PF534 galvanizing compound on those parts. When the hard work is done then comes Wurth seam sealer or a panel glue, Nascom etch primer or Wurth self etch primer, rock guard on exterior lower body & Wurth underbody seal where needed.

I only know this because as he's documenting the process he includes photos of the products :)
