A few things. I got my AC running today. My problem was the fuseable link
was toast. When I touched it it fell to dust. Replaced it. Now all runs
fine. BTW, that is fifty amps, and is the same one used on the '95 thru
2010 Beetles, so had no problem getting it at the local VW Dealership.
It has 32 oz of HFC152a in it (Bentley calls for 50.75 oz. Of R12). I lost
one canister due to inexperience. That left me with the 32 oz. It cools
fairly well, but I wonder what the target temperature at the front air
outlets should be expected on a late tintop GL like mine?
