Yes I did wonder a out possibility of wearing out the lug nuts; I had read your posts about that. The image was a close up cropped. So maybe pitting is accentuated?

I did what I thought was due diligence inspecting shoe condition after allowing the shoes to bed in a little.

Turns out that mark was a small (less than 1/2" long) casting flaw.

How can one tell when a wheel fastener seat is worn beyond spec?

I will stop posting about my brakes! ;)
