Do people still read books anymore?

Heck, most new Vanagon owners can't be bothered even to use a forum Search function or do a bit of Googling, and instead immediately toss their question up on an internet forum. As Scott says, often they haven't even exercised a bit of critical thinking and done the courtesy of a few fundamental diagnostics to help those who they're seeking help from.

The 'hive mind' of our collective knowledge is a powerful thing, but when more of us take more from it than we contribute, well ... we run out. Like the penny dish at the gas station checkout counter.
