So sorry you have to start to deal with 78 Bug Fuel Injection !
it's not that that system is so difficult to understand especially ( tho
it is an early system and not very sophisticated )
it's that when the Bug was designed they sure were not
thinking about having an alternator and fuel injection packed onto that
engine and into the engine compartment.
oh a warning about Convertible Bugs ..
probably not an issue in the area and terrain you drive in,
but in places like Ca with long, long high speed freeway hills..
with the top down, there is much reduced cooling airflow to the engine
at speed..
and they can overheat just from driving 70 uphill on a long grade and a
hot day.
last one I dealt with ...think I had to retorque the heads ..had to
adjust the valves for sure.
as Bugs go, they can be difficult to work on.
