Subject: Why I tell people they should purchase a vanagon

If you love being part of a magical community of people then purchase a vanagon or basically any VW from Vanagon and earlier.

We all have so many stories of community that I just don’t believe happens with any other vehicle.

I remember in my broken down bus in Canada standing with jumper cables in my hands. the next moment a VW bus came flying into the parking lot and a man jumped out to help. He taught me how to start the van with the screw driver connecting the terminals and I was able to get home.

A friend last year lost his gas cap and when coming out of the parts store empty handed another bus pulled in and asked what he needed. My friend followed him to his house where he was gifted a gas cap.

Today July 4 I was gifted a install of a house battery set up. I now have no worries of loosing my start battery when using my power for extended camping.

In my turn I’ve every now and then lent a helping vW hand from solving a no start problem with a can of WD 40 on wet engine wires to having the correct part in my van to share.

For over ten years I went without a van and what a joyful difference this van brings. Even needing to arrange drivers for inspection and service usually results in a fun connection that I could never have dreamed of without this van and the people it brings together.

So thanks to this community and my recent gifted power supply I will have extra reasons to celebrate owning a Vanagon and the joyful world it brings to me.
