A gallon of propane is ~96,000 Btu. The burners on our stoves are about 5,000 Btu/hr. The tank full (80%) is about 2.5 gallons. The two burners make more heat the Propex and that would been a much safer way to burn off the fuel.

Wow, I cannot believe how long the two burners can stay lighted on a single tank of fuel!

A few of us in Portland are having our tanks refurbed and I only learned of the deal Friday so after cooking brekky this morning I left the burner on. And on. And on. I filled the tank last month and used it a little one weekend since but how in the world can a tank last 14 hours?! I would never have believed it. I'm tempted to start the propex as well but it's too stinkin' hot as is.
