I've done it with 2,3, and 4 people. More the merrier. But if you are stuck with 2 then one thing that worked for me was to use a couple of lengths of plastic drainage pipe laid across the top of the van. The top can be rolled back on them.

If you know for sure that the new canvas will fit the top, then just cut the old canvas before removing the top . It's a little time saver.

Also, remove the lifting bar assembly only at the pop top end. Tie the assembly folded with some strong cord or heavy zip ties. Leave it attached to van.

Be careful of the skylight if you have one.
