I got my VW start on the Old Beetles. I recently unearthed my old yellow "Scientific Publications" manual for the 36 & 40 H.P. Volkswagen Transporters. Image of cover: http://tinyurl.com/jvycew6 That manual was dry reading for a 14 year old who generally "hated" reading. Regardless, along with some VW edu-mu-cated adult help, we managed to replace the "hockey stick" in the transaxle and rebuild the engine. This being on a black '58 Bug. The engine lasted a little while at best but I have some great memories of that Beetle. I eventually found out about the Muir books. Great reads. Loved the illustrations! I think I have a copy somewhere.

Books are great and all but having help via lists like this is great and appreciated!
