I suppose one could say that about Vanagon Digijet and Digifant Fuel Injection.

I can say for sure it REALLY helps to have a bunch of known-good fuel injection units ... and ..heck ...if one has another same model vanagon, then it's really easy to test components back and forth.

Plus equipment and manuals to deal with them.. and with the internet ...just amazing how often there is 'an answer' out their for some of the weirdest stuff ! I could NOT fix or operate my main computer or phone without asking the internet on another computer sometimes, to get stuff working again.

and I have seen 'a few' .....'nearly' unsolvable EFI problems on Vanagons, and as always 'it's a blockage or leakage of fluids or electrons.'

diesel and turbo diesel ..BTDT .. still own an 83 5 speed Sunroof DV .. and heck ...rebuilding the TD injection pump I want to use ( it's from an auto trans VW sedan with fore-aft engine, forget model name just now..that has a manual shut off lever on it besides the fuel solenoid ) it's going to cost me $ 650 plus shipping two ways to get that pump rebuilt .. something that never happens with EFI gasoline.

as for needing understanding and attention .. they are all 30 years old now, Vanagons.
