Subject: Re: Boring steel wheels

While most of us experienced Vanagon owners have accumulated the adequate skills and boring tools in our garages such as Alister has shown in his pictures, a few newbies might need some assistance in modifying lug holes or center holes in newly obtained wheels. A rim repair shop can do this quickly, accurately and safely. Many rim repair facilities have mobile repair trucks that service tire stores, dealerships, and body shops and some repairs can be done on-site. Since simple hole modifications do not require extensive cosmetic restoration, a reasonable price can usually be negotiated if you deal directly.

If you have rims that need modifying, this may be one way to get it done correctly at maybe a reasonable price. It's at least worth investigating.
