Go Westy has LED lights in three colors plus white for the auto shifter
console (http://www.gowesty.com/product-details.php?v=&id=23493),  and LED
replacements for all the other interior and exterior lighting. I have blue
and it's great.  The headrest has hairpin clips in the black plastic
grommets where the posts enter the seat back. Pop them out with a
screwdriver, but put a rag over them or they might fly off to never-never
land. BTDT.

While you have the console off, check your AT switch too, they are usually
worn out by now. GW is sold out, but I think others have this, including the
dealer. You can find yourself without backup lights or the neutral position
not having starting capability (handy if the engine dies while moving).

Today I'm asking about 3 annoyances to make wife happy:

1)  What options are out there to add night lighting to the gear box area,
either from above or below?  At night it is easy to switch into 2nd gear
when you want to be in "D" simply because it is dark and you overshot the
position:

2)  Lights were acceptably dim in those 1989 days.  Can this light be
replaced with something brighter without blowing a fuse?  The light above
the driver's door is also quite dim.

3)  This one is just cosmetic.  Does anyone have a source for this headrest
in black/gray?  Secondly, any idea how to remove these?  Mine don't seem to
budge.
