whenever possible avoid ALL Meyle products. Definitely on the weak end of the scale, IMO. re your comment on the blue caps. Supposedly it's a 'regular' pressure cap with coolant recovery valve. However.. they don't always release pressure when they should ..seen that lots ( if they did, expansion tanks would not puff up sometimes ) 'Usually' the 'suck-back- feature works . yes, excess pressure should be vented to the overflow tank, but they don't always work that way like they should, in my experience. Runs fine. No symptoms of bad head gasket. I guess I don’t fully understand the blue cap on the expansion tank—I would think that any excess in pressure in the expansion tank (gas or fluid) would be vented into the overflow tank. > > > > Thanks > > stan > > > > From: kenwilfy@gmail.com [mailto:kenwilfy@gmail.com] On Behalf Of kenneth wilford (Van-Again) > Sent: Wednesday, July 20, 2016 2:35 PM > To: Stan Shapiro > Cc: Vanagon List > Subject: Re: Expansion tanks > > > > Have you checked for combustion gasses getting into the coolant?
