Using an oxy-acetylene wrench to heat the nuts fast enough so the heat does not get to the fitting is usually the best way to get these separated. At this point it is likely the hoses aren't the only things leaking. The condenser is attached to the radiator at the bottom with those tabs and two screws at the top. The easiest way is to drop both as an assembly. It is possible to lower the assembly some with the coolant hoses connected and bend the tabs, remove the screws and slide the condenser down.

I'm in the process of replacing 25 year old A/C hoses. One has been leaking for years. I can see small bubbles through the hose wall. I'm at a impasse. I cannot get the larger of the two hoses off the condenser without destroying the condenser. It just will not turn without twisting off.

Also, I do not see in the Bentley how to take the condenser out. It appears to hook into the radiator. Is this correct? Must I remove the radiator to replace this when I ultimately ruin the condenser.

I'm about ready to say "screw the atmosphere" and put it back together. It was working fine with adding a can of 134a every 5-6 weeks.

This will be the last cooler day here in SE PA or the next week so I would like to wrap this up.

Any suggestions, directions or words of encouragement will be most appreciated.

Bob C
